What is Niche Marketing and How Do I Make Money?
Making money from a niche marketing website can be as easy or as difficult as you want to make it… First, let’s define what a niche market is and how it works….
First off you won’t find a list for Niche Markets anywhere. There isn’t one. (Apart from the one I’m going to give you very soon!)
Also, a niche will generally fall into one of these areas for you.
- A subject that you are interested in.
- A subject you are very knowledgeable about and can advise, help or offer a service or solution.
- A subject you have identified as a red hot topic with lots of interest or desire and you want to get involved.
Getting Started
Typically you will start to find niches and niche markets when you type words into your favourite search engine and hit search. The results that are displayed are results within niche markets.
Let’s say for example you type into Google “Improve my golf swing”. The results that come back will provide links that will take you to web pages that are within the niche of golf, and more specifically improving your golf swing.
These web pages will often consist of content rich information on different ways to improve your golf swing, or golf score. However, embedded within the content will be words that are underlined or a different color. These will be links or hyper-links to products or training platforms that you might be selling as an affiliate. Providing your reader clicks on one of these links because the words have enticed him to, then he may well be taken to a sales page which hopefully will convert your prospect into a buyer providing you with a nice commission on any sales made.
Start Building a List
Staying on the subject of golf. Another way of enticing the reader is to have them leave their name and email address in exchange for a free booklet, or tips sheet, or newsletter on golf. Since the reader is in need of learning how to improve their golf score, they may willingly do that. On the content rich site they will find articles and other information about improving golf scores plus advertisements for products and services designed to help improve their golf scores.
In the future they will receive a newsletter, tips or broadcasts about golf related topics, and may well become a niche market customer.
Building an opt-in email address list is pure gold. Often your visitor will not click on your text links or advertisements on the first visit to your site. A relationship has to be established, and this can be achieved through sending quality niche related content direct to his or her email address via a service called an Auto-Responder, This can be done over and over again, often selling multiple times to the same person. A Content Rich Site Enhances the Possibility of Sales.
Generally the trick to making money from a content rich niche marketing website is to have a topic that helps people solve a problem, makes them feel better or look better, or supplies them with information that they desperately want or need.
You will need to have related products and services advertised on your site since that is where your income will come from, and the website content is what will make people visit your site again and again. The relevancy and quality of the content will determine how often people visit and how long they stay. The longer they stay the more opportunities you have to sell to them. (The products can be your own creations – or affiliate products)
